Bilitanonne

African Artisanal Chocolate

Bilitanonne is a boutique chocolate studio creating small-batch, artisanal bonbons inspired by African flavour traditions and the rhythm of the seasons.

Rooted in Kenyan heritage and shaped by contemporary craft, the brand explores familiar ingredients—plantain, mango, coconut, baobab, tea, and coffee—through a refined chocolate lens. Each flavour is designed for balance, warmth, and clarity, allowing origin and technique to speak without excess.

Seasonality is central to how Bilitanonne creates. Limited collections are released throughout the year to mark moments such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, summer, and the festive season, translating memory and occasion into chocolate. Alongside these releases sits a core collection of signature bonbons, crafted year-round and recognised for their distinctive character.

From Market to Mouth

Beyond the box, Bilitanonne is built through direct connection. Regular participation in chocolate festivals, gourmet food events, and local markets allows the brand to engage closely with its customers, refine its offerings, and grow organically through experience rather than scale.

Sustainability is approached with intention. Packaging is eco-conscious, ingredients are sourced locally and seasonally where possible, and production remains small-batch to minimise waste and maintain quality.

Bilitanonne exists to create chocolates that honour origin, celebrate seasonality, and offer a modern expression of African-inspired indulgence—crafted with purpose, restraint, and care.

Okoth

Born in Glasgow and raised between Kenya and the United States, the founder’s creative instincts were shaped early through drawing, painting, and poetry. Food, however, became the most enduring medium. As the middle child in a busy household, the kitchen became a place of responsibility, observation, and quiet creativity—where technique, intuition, and care were learned long before they were named.

Formal exposure to professional kitchens came in high school through a chef-led course, introducing structure, workflow, and discipline. This foundation was reinforced in the U.S. through work in construction while studying—an experience that sharpened problem-solving skills, project management, and respect for craft and process.

A move to London marked a shift into retail and luxury e-commerce, beginning with wedding gift curation and operational logistics. This evolved into head office roles spanning content management, website merchandising, and digital asset coordination, before transitioning fully into technology—designing and maintaining business-led digital solutions.

Chocolate brings these worlds together. It sits at the intersection of creativity, precision, storytelling, and systems. Each collection reflects a layered background—African influence, artisanal discipline, and modern execution—translated into chocolate made with intention, clarity, and respect for craft.
